“We are creative.” That was the best opening line I could think of. But, we are creative, and we have an amazing opportunity to manifest our creativity through our creations, whether they be ideas, conversations, relationships, families, religions, art, technology, businesses, or even our governments. This is our human Gestalt. From ideas flow life. And quality of life is…expensive.
In the interest of great artistry and saving time, I have stolen this post from myself to fill these halls and help reduce the echo.
Yesterday on the drive to pickup my daughter from school, I had a few minutes to my own thoughts, and I started to pondered about the true value of Twitter. I know this seems as if I have nothing better to do with my thoughts while driving in the rain, but I have been slowly using the service more, read about it every day, have a conversation about it every other day, and see new ideas and applications built on Twitter five times a day.
So what is an API? An API, or application programming interface, is a geeky way to describe the business & technology services of a company, exposed in such a way that you may benefit from them. Of course, if you are not too familiar with the term, that may be due to the fact that when you visit a company’s website that boasts an API to their service, it is usually hidden under “Developers Documentation” or explained as a long list of web service calls & code examples.
Platform 9¾ is that place that hovers between reality & fantasy, yet always moving forward. Our focus at 9¾ is on making ideas happen. Our passion is creating rich experiences for the people who engage with those ideas [like us].
For the last few years I have been in countless almost, maybe, and what if conversations in regards to web entrepreneurship, collaborative consultancy, boutique design services, and idea incubation, but have yet to do anything substantial with any of them. In early 2009 the concept to form a loosely coupled group of individuals who collaborate on projects & ideas together started to mature, and platform 9¾ (aka 9¾) was conceived.
